Its Been Awhile

My appologies for leaving you all in the dark for so long about my exiting life, I'm sure it has been hard on you all not know what I have been up to in the last 2 months, but let me assure you, you aren't missing much.
Work is going great!! Next week Snoop will be up here as the new PE on the Auditorium, so that will be cool! I was just looking through my old things and was amazed at how far both building have come since the last time I did this thing. The Auditorium is booking (moving at a rapid speed). The last truss (270' long!) was set this week. It is a pretty amazing site to see. They have started framing in the lobby area. Here are a few pictures. I haven't taken any in about a month so these are pretty out of date.

Southeast corner

Some of the ductwork in the lobby area...its pretty big.

This is the auditroium trusses...they are all installed now. There are 4 of the 270' long trusses set on the King Truss (the big one with the Okland sign on it). Most of the decking is installed as well.

With the completion of the bookstore and interim kicthen on the first floor of the Manwaring Center, they have started demo on the second floor. They are working on the new food court, which is going to be freakin huge!! It is going to be a really nice space. There will be all sorts of food options and seating for 1,500 people, and a bridge connecting the food court to the 3rd floor of the library.

Now onto the exciting things! FOOTBALL IS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!! I know I said that about lacrosse, but I couldn't have been more wrong! I FREAKING LOOOOOOVE FOOTBALL!!!! I play for the Titans and we are UNDEFEATED!!! 3 and 0 BABY!!! I play defensive end and kicker. In my first quarter of my first game I kicked my first PAT and then the very next play I had an interception!!!! Last week I got my first sack!!! Yestardays game we played the Wildcats, who were "the team to beat"....HA. we stomped them 33-16. We held them to only a field goal til the 3rd quarter when our offense had 2 turn overs that they scored on.

Well, thats pretty much it. Except that I WILL BE IN SAN DIEGO IN 8 DAYS!!!!!!! I can't wait!!!

Back in Rexburg!

Well, I've been back in Rexburg for 2 weeks now and have pretty much nothing exciting to talk about and I LOVE it!!! There is nobody up here and it is fantastic! It's so nice to come home from work and have absolutley nothing to do and nobody to bother me...I golfed 4 times last week!!!

I bought a motorcycle!!! Its awesome and I love it!!! I filled up yestarday, it was just over $6 and that will last me over 2 weeks!!! Quite possibly the greatest investment I have ever made!!

Yestarday me and some fools hiked up R mountain and that was quite a bit of fun...I had never done it before in my 3 years of being here so I figured it was high time I did it. We caught a lizard and he liked me, also we found a scorpion, which was really cool!!

Contsruction is getting really exciting now!!! The bookstore will be turned over to the school in 2 weeks!!!

I couldn't believe how much had been done on the auditorium when I got back!!! When I left none of the steel for the courts area had been erected...now it is almost all up!!! Its incredible how much bigger the area feels now that the steel is up. It is an amazing site to see the 190 foot long trusses up in the air!!!

Well, see ya later.

What a weekend!!!

This weekend was so totally awesome!!! Me and my roommate and some ladies went down to my buddies house in Preston, Idaho!!! It was the bomb.com!! We didn't get there til pretty late friday night cuz one of the girls had a softball game, but when we got there we played a little basketball, which usually I don't care for (even though I can kick Scotts butt so bad) but whenever I get to play on an adjustable rim I LOVE it cuz I can dunk which makes me totally awesome!!!!

Saturday we went tubin down a river for about 3 hours!!! FREAKIN SWEET!!! Only thing is, I thought I would be layin on my back the whole time, so I didn't put any sunscreen on my back, turns out layin on your back the whole time is for sissy pansy babies who are scared, so I got the worst sunburn I've ever had. But that doesn't even matter cuz I'm hard core and it was totally worth it!!!

This picture was taken with my phone so it isn't great quality...

So anydangways, tubing was awesome! After that we went back to Jesse's house and hung out for a little while. Then we had to go pick up his little sis from town so we went and grabbed some sirloins and i cooked them up and everybody loved it and wanted to give me kisses. After dinner we went out and played on his ATV!! That was awesome!!! Also we did a little more SLAM DUNKING while other people where driving it.

Tell me thats not the awesomest pictures you've ever seen and I will call you a liar. MJ aint got nothin on me.

While we were out there playing around a little dog came to play with us and I named him Colonel Clink. He was a wussy dog though.

Then we topped the night of with a rousing game of Texas Hold Em' and I trashed everybody!! Don't worry pops, no actual money was used.

Also this weekend was kind of crappy. I had my second statics exam and the take home portion took me about 6 hours...also I had a group project due today so I spent about 4-5 hours working on our presentation.

The stupid semester is finally almost over!! I think this has been my worst semester yet. But my softball team and soccer team both made it to semi-finals this week!!!

The Bomb.com

First and foremost, I am awesome.

Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let my bore you with countless stories of my life in Rexburg.

As you may recall, my life consists of school, which I am already sick of, Josh, I don't think I will ever understand how your brain works, work, which I love, and sports...

Mid terms came out this week! Shows that I have an F in statics!!! But don't worry momma, that isn't right, I got a 90 on my first test! Everything else is going pretty good, I have A's and B's in all my other classes, but I am ready for a break.

Lacrosse is pretty much the greatest thing ever!! My team is absolutley HORRIBLE, which is really frustrating. We haven't won a game yet, but I did have 4 goals and 2 assists last week!

Friday was stinkin AWESOME!! Me, Jackson, Jordan, Tyler, Nate (the guys I work with), one of the Okland guys, and Nates brother went golfing on friday for lunch! I spanked them all!!! We played this game called Ping-Pong-Pow, which was acutally a lot of fun. 3 points are available per hole, one for longest drive, one for first to the green or closest to the pin, and one for lowest score. Then after work it was so nice that I went again!!

Today is Lammer's birthday (my old roommate) so last night we went to Texas Roadhouse and then went and hung out at the falls of Idaho Falls. It was a lot of fun! Last week I went to my old ward and this chick sang and I decided she was the woman I was going to marry...well last night, she shows up at Texas Roadhouse with Hannah (Lammers wife) so I'm thinkin this must be destiny! So anyways, I spent the whole night flirting with her and it was awesome!! She is coming over for dinner tonight and I think I am going to propose! I will keep you posted on the marraige situation.

Well, construction is still moving along well! All of the columns are up for the Auditorium, which is an awesome sight, you can see it from the highway! There is now a second crane here, which is even bigger than the first! They have started erecting steel and placing the precast panels! The Manwaring is bookin (going fast) too!

This picture is from outside of my trailer of the Auditorium.

The first steel erected on the Auditorium.

The first panels placed for the Auditorium.

This is a neat little video of the Auditorium so far. I am standing approximetly where the pulpit will be.

So I am still new to this whole blogging thing and need help. When I insert a picture it always inserts it at the top and screws up all the formatting...does anybody have any tips or does it always do this?

Thank you for joing us this week, please tune in next time when time will share his beliefs about government and politics.

You stay classy!

Blogging?

Well everybody else is doing this whole 'blogging' thing so I thought I would jump in on it since my life is so incredibly exciting and I'm sure you are all dying to hear about it!

I was in the proccess of sending an email to some folks today to show them the latest pictures of the construction when I decided this would be easier.

Today the first column for the shear wall (the massive curved wall in the back of the auditorium) went up, which was pretty dang exciting! It is about 84' tall and weighs 45 tons...yes, that is 90,000 pounds. There are 22 more of these that will go up in the next 2-3 weeks! Obviously, the crane that they are using to put them up is massive as well, it is the biggest one the company makes. There has been a 'small' crane up here for about a year that lifts 20 tons...the big crane lifts 300 tons. There will even be a bigger crane coming in a few weeks!!!!

It was a gloomy day up here today so the pictures didn't turn out well, but this is the column on the truck. You can see the little 20 ton crane on the left and the huge 300 ton crane on the right!

Here's the column hanging in the air.

Here it is in place. Its so big you can't see the top or bottom of it!

The Manwaring Center is really coming along now! The bookstore is almost completly framed!!! It is a massive bookstore! It'll be so much better than the one they have now!

This is the north side of the Manwaring addition. The new bookstore will occupy the entire bottom floor of this addition! They were laying brick about 2 weeks ago and Jackson was out walking the site with one of the superintendents and realized there was no building wrap (that blue stuff on the building) on any of the building, so they had to rip all the brick out that they had already done...fortunetly Jackson caught it early and they only lost a few days.

There are just a few pictures of the MC...its hard to get good pictures in there because there is so much going on.

Well, apart from work, all I do is sports...just kidding momma. Classes are pretty good this semester. Statics is my only really hard class. Estimating is kind of tuff, my teacher is working on his dissertation, so he is so busy with that he is super dissorganized, so its kind of a joke, which Snoop can attest to, and the rest of my classes are simple!

When I'm not working or studying I play sports!!! I am playing lacrosse, which is in the early stages of becoming a competative sport up here, flag football, softball, and I play GOALIE (so I'm not gay) for 2 soccer teams. Oh, and I play as much golf as possible. My first week up here I played 7 times!!! Also I make sure to set asside plenty of time for the lasies!!!
